Shanghai is becoming a globally competitive quality powerhouse, as evidenced by the presentation ceremony of the 2023-2024 Shanghai Mayor's Quality Award to two influential companies in the city.

The award ceremony, held on July 8 at the Friendship Hall, recognized the "Urban Environment Quality Management Model" by Shanghai Chengtou Environment Group and the "Full-process, Full-cycle, Full-element Aerospace Lean Quality Management Model" by Shanghai Aerospace Equipments Manufacturer Co Ltd.

In his speech, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng highlighted the importance of quality in the city's development, stating that Shanghai is committed to "becoming a socialist modern international metropolis with global influence". He emphasized the need to prioritize quality and efficiency, actively participate in standard setting, and enhance brand building to elevate Shanghai's reputation.

In addition to the two Mayor's Quality Award recipients, the ceremony also acknowledged 20 advanced quality management models and 10 advanced quality management achievements.

Shanghai's dedication to quality is reflected in its consistent A-grade ranking in national quality assessment and its leading position in China's quality awards. The city's manufacturing industry quality competitiveness index has topped the national ranking for 14 consecutive years.
