MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) - The event “Universality and Indivisibility of Human Rights for All: States Practices” organized jointly by the Permanent Missions of Belarus and Russia was held in the Hofburg Palace, the seat of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on 5 July, BelTA learned from the Permanent Mission of Belarus to the OSCE in Vienna.
The event presented the first joint report by the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Russia on human rights practices in certain countries. The voluminous work of more than 1,800 pages presents the facts about serious human rights violations in Western countries.
The event was moderated by Andrei Dapkiunas, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the OSCE. The speakers were Irina Velichko, Head of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Grigory Lukyantsev, Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and civil society in Vienna and mass media.
Earlier, on 3 July, the joint Belarusian-Russian report was presented in Geneva on the margins of the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
