MINSK, 11  July (BelTA) – Inflation in Belarus has been within the forecast band since the beginning of the year, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Natalya Vasilevskaya told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“There were no pain points throughout this year so far. We see that the consumer price index has been within the forecast band since the beginning of the year. I hope this situation will remain in place until the end of the year. Thus, we will handle the inflation task,” said Natalya Vasilevskaya.

According to information posted on the ministry's website, in May the month-on-month inflation was 0.1%. The month-on-month increase in consumer prices in May 2024 was below the average over the past 10 years. By December 2023, inflation was 2.8% (the target is to keep it below 6% by the end of the year).
