Gary Wheaton
Gary Wheaton is a former Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from Seabrook, New Hampshire who resigned his seat after arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and operating a motor vehicle after revocation or suspension of license.[1] [1]
Wheaton later chose to run in the special election to fill his old seat, but received only sixteen votes (tied for last place in a five-candidate race) and was reported not to have bothered to cast a vote himself in the election.[2] Both Wheaton and former two-term state representative Lou Gargiulo (the latter endorsed by John H. Sununu and Congressman Frank Guinta) lost in the Republican primary to union firefighter and paramedic Kevin Janvrin of Seabrook.[3] In the aftermath of his loss, it was reported that Gargiulo had "slammed" Janvrin, and that Wheaton had attacked both Janvrin and Gargiulo, in comments on the Facebook page of New Hampshire's Republican House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt.[4]
