Who will win the Democratic nomination for El Paso district attorney and county sheriff? Who will represent El Paso’s District 77 in the state House of Representatives?
On Tuesday, May 28, El Paso voters will cast the final ballots in the 2024 primary runoff election to decide these races, as well as the Democratic nominee for constable for Precinct 1 and the Republican nominee for District 23 U.S. representative.
The winners of the Democratic DA and sheriff races will go on to face Republican opponents in the Nov. 5 general election; while the state representative and constable winners will take the seat as there’s no opponents in November. The winner of the Republican U.S. representative runoff will face a Democratic opponent in November.

Ugarte wins El Paso County sheriff Democratic runoff
The Democratic winner will face Republican candidate Minerva Torres Shelton, who was unopposed in the primary, in the Nov. 5 general election.
Montoya defeats Trejo for Democratic district attorney nomination
The Democratic nominee will face Republican incumbent DA Bill Hicks in the Nov. 5 general election.
El Paso’s Vince Perez wins District 77 state rep runoff
With no Republican opposition in the Nov. 5 general election, Perez will take the seat in January.
