We at Elevate Phoenix are bursting with excitement to announce that we’ve been chosen as a recipient of a life-changing $1 million grant from the Yield Giving Open Call! This incredible opportunity, managed by Lever for Change, focuses on empowering organizations working tirelessly to uplift communities experiencing the greatest need across the United States.
This recognition deeply humbles us. As one of only three recipients in all of Arizona, we’re honored to have our dedication to the youth in our community acknowledged on such a grand scale.
Fueling Futures: Empowering Young Minds
Elevate Phoenix has always been dedicated to fostering academic success and educational perseverance in low-income, at-risk youth. We provide comprehensive programs and services that equip them with the tools and support they need to graduate high school and confidently chart their paths towards college or fulfilling careers.
This transformational grant signifies a pivotal moment in our journey. As Executive Director Dalila Gamper eloquently states, “We know this award will help change the lives of thousands of our deserving students and, by extension, their families and schools.”
It’s a validation of our unwavering commitment to improving our community. This financial boost will empower us to further motivate future leaders to stay in school, chase their dreams of higher education, and ultimately embark on successful careers.
A Collaborating for Change
The Yield Giving Open Call received a staggering 6,353 applications, showcasing the breadth and depth of impactful organizations across the country. Initially aiming for 250 awards of $1 million each, the sheer caliber of the applications inspired the donor team to expand their reach. Through a rigorous two-phase review process, a total of 361 non-profits from 38 states and U.S. territories were chosen, including Elevate Phoenix.

As Ms. Gamper emphasizes, “That’s been an amazing gift in our spaces that is not only helping now in sustaining what we’ve grown so far but it will go directly into our strategic plan for growth and expansion.”
This translates to a brighter future for countless young minds. Our vision is to expand our reach to encompass 11 of the largest Title One Phoenix Union high schools and their feeder elementary schools. By amplifying our programs and mentorship pipelines, we aim to empower an even greater number of deserving youth to unlock their full potential and become the architects of their own success stories.

This grant propels us forward with renewed vigor, allowing us to create a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our community for years to come.
