Updates

  • Hello, dear users! We keep shipping biiig things, and that's why you haven't heard from us for 2 weeks again. Here is the news: 1. Lingolette now has an Asian server, and that greatly improved the chat experience for the whole Asia-Pacific region. 2. We have added a small but addictive language game: https://lnkd.in/dhRTAPF7 Please check it out and send your feedback. 3. Flashcards started using all of your vocabulary, not just the first page. Thank you for reporting this issue! 4. We got a lightweight white-label version for schools lacking development resources to integrate with our API. Here is a demo of what your own language school could look like: https://lnkd.in/dd9C6pKS 5. We started a Discord channel dedicated to helping our community of Lingolettis. Join it today: https://lnkd.in/dX5FxE79

  • Despite the summer, we keep working and adding stuff. Last week there was no update; our bad, we were busy with B2B clients on 99%, but this week here are your candies. 1. Lingolette Premium users got a nice experience improvement: their AI-teacher model now replies faster than before. 2. As we keep receiving a lot of requests to add Serbian language, we are now preparing models and auxiliary tools for it. If we get 500 visits through this link until the end of the month, Serbian will go live: https://lnkd.in/dUKvdECs 3. In the voice chat, one can now select their favorite teacher if it's enabled for that language. You can still choose your teacher in your profile settings, as before. 4. AI-teacher now properly supports advanced language levels. If you are looking for a language buddy and want to polish your C1 or C2, the system is now more capable of helping you with that. 5. Beginners got a bonus too: in the chat right menu, there's a small "Language basics" button that will show you some basics if you forgot. We will expand that part eventually, so send your feedback and stay tuned! 6. And last but not least, flash cards and context menus now show how to pronounce the object, if transliteration is available for the given language, of course.

Hello everyone, Do you wonder what we were busy with this week? Alright, here comes the news. 1. We have finally introduced dialects! And it's decided to be a free feature! Yes, you heard it right. Now you can choose a teacher in settings that have a specific dialect, and it will talk to you using the voice, lexicon, and grammar of that dialect. Don't forget to restart the chat after selection! To begin with, we added support for the following dialects: Brazilian Portuguese, Mexican Spanish, British English, and Canadian French. Let us know what other dialects you need (no cheating; you must be an active user). 2. Articles have gained a printable mode now. If you are a teacher craving for new texts with questions for your classroom, just send any article for printing, and it will be automatically formatted for on-paper usage. 3. We fixed the long-lasting е/ё bug in Russian. Now the pronunciation is 100% correct for all the words there. 4. B2B customers got a dashboard upgrade. Now they can filter their students by time and see everyone's activity and resource consumption. 5. We have laid the foundation for completely custom teachers with custom voices and personalities. If any of you is a language teacher and wants to get cloned to teach more students online, please let us know in the comments. We will start selecting candidates for this cloning program soon.

  • A weekly update for our wonderful users. We have reworked the user experience for pronunciation analysis, and now you are able to see the results for any of your voice replies without the necessity of saying that again in a dedicated dialog box. It is now possible to edit your chat and remove your last input along with the teacher's reply. That's useful if you made a technical mistake like releasing the push-to-talk too early. Lingolette now has an annual plan for the most enthusiastic learners. A 25% discount applies automatically! We have introduced a new server architecture, so our updates should not disturb you anymore, as the downtime is expected to be exactly zero seconds. And a small helpful feature for newcomers who haven't yet set up their microphones properly: we clarified the notification you may see when you input silence or murmuring and gave them the ability to hear your input.

  • Hello dear users, This week we were quite busy building a new website, as many of you kept asking us what is included in the paid version, and we wanted to make it clear. The first redesigned parts are already out. As for the new features and improvements, we have them too, of course! First of all, we added a silence detection algorithm. From now on, if you have issues with your microphone, the system will not try to understand the noise or silence, it will simply tell you about this problem. As promised last week, we have added word segmentation for Japanese and Chinese. Now working with individual words is like a piece of cake, despite having no spaces between words in those languages. Our paying users now have a faster response in the chat for their cool language model. And our B2B customers got a small improvement as well: the dashboard now displays resource consumption for each user individually. By the way, thank you very much for promoting us on https://lnkd.in/dbrrwEAk. Only with your help did we manage to get to the first place there!

Shoutout to Russell Stannard for a very in-depth review and recommendation of Lingolette on his YouTube channel dedicated to training teachers. 🙌 We are thrilled to see it being recommended by teachers to other teachers in the comments of the same video. Here’s the link if you’d like to see how Lingolette works in detail: https://lnkd.in/dgwUhHf3 Some teachers have expressed concerns about potentially losing their students to solutions like this. We want to reassure you that Lingolette is designed to be a perfect complement to regular language lessons, and nothing can fully replace a brilliant teacher. To further support educators, we've developed a teacher dashboard feature, enabling teachers to form student groups, assign tasks, and track progress. The decision of learners to enroll in a class or use an app involves many other factors that are beyond our control. Thank you to all the teachers who trust and recommend Lingolette!

  • Hi language learners, This week we are happy to present you with something you have been asking for quite a while — a clear mistakes assessment. To activate this feature, you will need to restart any of your current chats by pressing "complete". You can always switch mistakes analysis back to the old inline mode in settings, or even turn it off completely. Chinese users have got a pinyin output transliteration and a more legible font. Thanks Konstantina Imprisimi for these ideas! Next week, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean learners may expect a word segmentation feature that would allow them to save and analyze words separately. Speaking of fonts, they are now loaded dynamically for languages with non-latin scripts. This improves performance and legibility at the same time. To unclog the list of languages in the vocabulary, we now only display the languages you have learned. AI-teacher in the paid version got several improvements. Make sure to get yourself a subscription to access all the cool stuff. Flashcards! Yaay! A beta-version with a simple algorithm just to get feedback from you all. They are available in the vocabulary section, in the top-right menu. We will continue improving this feature based on your responses. And last but not least, we have been mentioned in Zain Kahn's blog, and that gave us a new wave of new users. We kept welcoming them the whole week. https://lnkd.in/dQciTuVC

  • Hello, dear users! This week we became the #2 language learning app in one of the countries, so you might have noticed significant lagging and decreased availability. We apologize for that, it has now been fully fixed. We honestly did not anticipate such popularity, and our infrastructure was not ready. Welcome to all you tens of thousands of new users! 👋 Now let us quickly list all the changes we managed to make this week: * Chinese is finally released for public testing; it supports pinyin input. * Greek is in public testing as well, with both input and output transliteration tools. * Push-to-talk was made more clear on mobile phones. * The Portuguese voice model is fixed to use the correct dialect. * Vocabulary gained the sorting option. * It's now possible to pause and resume voiceover in articles. * Group admins are now able to delete their groups safely. Next week, we plan to add a feature a lot of you asked for — flash cards.
