Amid fresh fighting, 1,500 more from Myanmar take refuge in Mizoram
Intensified conflict in Myanmar led to another wave of 1,500 refugees seeking shelter in Mizoram last week, bringing the total to over 35,120. The new arrivals come from fierce battles involving the Myanmar Army and ethnic insurgent groups. Mizoram has also been hosting around 2,000 Bangladeshi tribal refugees since 2022 due to military attacks in their region.
