Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:39AM

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.50%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 1.32%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 1.23%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.01%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.56%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.44%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.25%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.23%) were among the top gainers.

MOIL Ltd.(down 1.77%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 1.73%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 1.11%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 1.00%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.46%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 0.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 48.36 points up at 24368.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 204.49 points at 80164.87 at around 10:39AM.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 4.85%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.61%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.41%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.17%), ITC Ltd.(up 1.11%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.02%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.79%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.76%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.65%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.21%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.09%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.75%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 0.68%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 0.64%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.6%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.56%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.55%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.51%) and Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 0.45%) were trading in the red.
