    Vijay Sethupathi's milestone 50th film, 'Maharaja', directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, is gearing up for an OTT release on July 12. Following its release in theaters on June 14, the film has garnered widespread acclaim during its theatrical run and will be available in multiple languages on Netflix.

    Set in the backdrop of an emotional thriller, 'Maharaja' centers around the enigmatic question: Who is Lakshmi? Vijay Sethupathi delivers a stellar performance in this pivotal role, supported by a talented cast including Natty as a cop, and Anurag Kashyap, Abhirami, Bharathiraja, Munishkanth, and Manikandan in crucial roles.

    Ajaneesh Loknath's music complements the narrative, while Dinesh Purushothaman's cinematography and Philomin Raj's editing add depth to the storytelling.

    Despite tough competition from 'Kalki 2898 AD', 'Maharaja' surpassed expectations by grossing over Rs 80 crore within its first 10 days, emerging as the top Tamil film opening in 2024. The film continued its strong run, crossing the coveted 100 crore mark by the end of its third week.

    'Maharaja' not only captivated audiences but also earned accolades at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, where it received a standing ovation. Vijay Sethupathi and director Nithilan Saminathan were present at the prestigious event, along with Mamta Mohandas, adding to the film's global appeal.

    Earlier, Sethupathi expressed his gratitude for the support saying, "We're extremely happy with the overwhelming response it got outside the state [Tamil Nadu]." "People are showering love on every actor and technician who worked on the film. I don't know what to say!"

    Vijay is working on projects like 'Peddi' and the much-anticipated 'Viduthalai Part 2', directed by Vetrimaaran. The sequel promises to showcase Sethupathi through innovative de-aging technology and is slated for a grand Diwali 2024 release.
