Position Summary

We are currently seeking an emotionally intelligent Student Support Services Coordinator to join our team. The East Bay Center utilizes the performing arts as the vehicle for transformation for youth, focusing on assets and strengths-based solutions. Under the direction of the Director of Student Development and Training, the SSSC manages and provides access to necessary supportive services in the community, provide case management services as needed and develop programs and resources that support wellness for the student population, and develop programs and resources that support wellness for the entire student population.

Position Summary 

We are in search of a dynamic individual to oversee this historic landmark in the City of Richmond, a 12-year-old performing arts facility with over 11,610 square feet. Under the direction of the Director of Student Development & Training, the incumbent will manage core Center productions, facility rentals, and outreach performances, as well as coordinate facility maintenance. They will collaborate with both the Main Site program staff and School Partnerships program staff to ensure smooth and efficient facility operations. In collaboration with the Director of Student Development and Training, they will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and supervising all on-call production/tech crew. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating quarterly inspections for the building and ensuring that all technical equipment is maintained and in optimal working condition. They must be flexible as there will be times when they will be required to work additional hours to support the Center’s scheduled signature events (e.g. annual gala, student performances and guest artist productions) that may occur during the evenings and some weekends.

The Center is currently seeking enthusiastic, skilled, and creative music teachers to join the School Partnerships faculty. The Center partners with the West Contra Costa Unified School District to serve under-resourced elementary schools in Richmond by bringing music education into classrooms where it otherwise would not exist.

We provide music programs that incorporate developmentally-appropriate instruction on singing,  rhythm, beat, tempo, movement, improvisation, and the playing of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments. We encourage and support Teaching Artists to incorporate local and  global music into their teaching to connect students to their community and the world. Our music Teaching Artists possess expertise in a particular area, instrument, or style of music, and are committed to offering high-quality, trauma-informed arts education. Ideal candidates are  musicians with a strong teaching background who are passionate about working in under-resourced schools, enjoy working with large and small groups of students, have strong  classroom management skills, and are patient, dynamic, flexible, independent and reliable and punctual.
