Targets ✅ Declarations ✅ Climate goals ✅ Wind farms ❌ Turning our ambitions into actual wind farms means rethinking offshore wind auctions. Current mechanisms add too much financial risk upfront, instead of focusing on promoting project realisation and value creation. 2024, particularly, is a pivotal year - with an unprecedented volume of offshore wind up for auction. If ever there was a time for action, it’s now. Later is too late. www.vestas.com/action

Claus: 40 years with Vestas Claus' story begins in Ringkøbing, where he grew up and worked as a carpenter. In 1984, at the age of 27, he joined Vestas. At that time, we decided to manufacture our own blades to ensure quality, and Claus was instrumental in constructing the first models. In 1990, Claus became part of Vestas’ first dedicated blade repair team. This period marked a global expansion for Vestas, and Claus travelled all around the world. He later played a key role in training new service technicians, ensuring that Vestas’ standards were maintained globally. As Claus prepares for retirement, he reflects on the incredible journey. From the early days of small-scale production of 8-metre blades to working with 115-metre blades. He cherishes the friendships built over the years, the freedom to innovate, and the opportunity to travel and learn from diverse cultures. Learn more about Claus' career: https://brnw.ch/21wKRcO

Announcing our largest-ever onshore wind farm!   We've secured a 577 MW order for the second stage of the 1.3 GW Golden Plains project in Australia. Building on our existing 756 MW EPC contract with TagEnergy for stage one, this is now our largest onshore wind farm globally. Key project highlights include: ◾ 93 of our V162-6.2 MW wind turbines (EnVentus platform) ◾ 30-year service and maintenance agreement (AOM5000), ensuring optimal energy production into the Australian grid Read more: https://lnkd.in/d6_WRikQ

Opening new markets with Development!   Steelhead Americas, Vestas North American development arm, today celebrated the commissioning of Mississippi's first-ever wind project, the 185 MW Delta Wind project.   This project symbolizes a major milestone in Steelhead's role in opening new wind markets across the U.S with our team leading all development efforts from permitting to community engagement.    "This is a moment of immense pride for Steelhead Americas. Seeing a wind project come to fruition from conception to construction is always incredibly satisfying, and to be the first developer to achieve this in a challenging new market like Mississippi makes it even more special," said Chris Rogers, Senior Vice President, Steelhead Americas. “Combining Vestas’ technology expertise with Steelhead’s development expertise allowed us to develop the Delta project in a way that supports local communities and their existing farming operations while fostering long-lasting economic growth in the region.” Find out more about our Steelhead team: https://lnkd.in/dCcMUurp

We've signed a conditional offshore wind agreement with Vattenfall and BASF for the Nordlicht 1 and 2 projects in Germany. Parts of the projects will use low-emission steel, advancing our efforts to reduce CO2e emissions along the entire value chain. Key highlights include: ◾ Conditional agreement for the supply of 112 of our flagship V236 offshore wind turbines.  ◾ 56 / 112 turbines will use low-emission steel for the top sections, reducing the towers' overall carbon footprint by 16% ◾ A 5-year service and warranty agreement followed by an operational support agreement until year 30 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dsgBH3nH

A plan for a wind farm is not a wind farm. Governments worldwide have set ambitious targets for offshore wind. While this is a good first step, it means nothing without a focus on implementation. On this Global Wind Day, we spotlight the need for action. Under the right conditions, offshore wind can accelerate decarbonisation, create jobs, and deliver clean, affordable power to millions of households. However, we risk missing out unless we get enough turbines in the water. The good news is that we can change this. By rethinking offshore wind auctions, we can turn more plans into actual projects. A new offshore wind project! We've secured an order for the 660 MW Nordseecluster A project in Germany, from our customer RWE. The Nordseecluster project will be implemented in two phases - Nordseecluster A and B. Under the first phase, we will: ▪️Supply, deliver and commission 44 of our flagship V236-15.0 MW wind turbines ▪️Upon completion, service the assets under a 5-year service agreement followed by an operational support agreement Nordseecluster B will add a further 900 MW of capacity, for which Vestas and RWE currently have a conditional order agreement in place for 60 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines. First power! We’ve finalised the installation of our flagship offshore turbine, the V236-15.0 MW, in the Port of Thyborøn in the northwestern part of Denmark. Today, the turbine successfully produced its first kWh of power – a crucial step in our final verification campaign. We are ramping up serial production before starting the installation of the first offshore projects featuring the V236-15.0 MW turbine.

Our safety culture includes Pride. Here’s why. Putting safety first goes beyond preventing physical accidents. It’s also about fostering emotional and psychological security. We recognise that diversity drives innovation, and inclusion is how we harness this power. That’s why we strive to be a workplace where, despite our different beliefs and experiences, we approach each other’s differences with respect, finding common ground in what unites us. This is how we build a culture of inclusion and succeed in leading the energy transition. As we mark International Pride Month, we continue our efforts to ensure everyone feels included and safe to be their authentic selves...always. Happy Pride. #PoweringInclusion
