Getting ready for the weekend? Well, we're not quite there yet. We still have some introductions to be made - our newest mentor! Henrik Jacobi - Former Executive Vice President of R&D, ALK-Abelló Henrik has decades of experience across the pharmaceutical value chain from early discovery trough clinical development, registration, market access, products launch and life cycle management. We are very excited to have someone with such vast experience across a value chain, join our mentor team. “I’m truly excited to join the NOME network of highly professional mentors. What does Nordic #lifescience companies in the US look like? Last week we brought 6 of the NOME Medtech companies to Minnesota for a 4-day US boot camp. The US Medtech market, it's eco-system and key stakeholders, can be tricky to get access to, so we teamed up with MedTech Bridge to get the best possible introduction for the startups. And Dave Olson, Stacy Eichenlaub and Tim Damgaard Christensen certainly delivered a wonderful programme for our participants: RESPINOR AS ROPCA Nordic Brain Tech AS Orbit Health Stardots, Inc and InVivo Bionics 👏 The boot camp was held in the historic building the old Grain Exchange in Minneapolis and included panel sessions, one-to-one sparring and networking events. A part of the programme, that is always an incredible experience for the Nordic companies was to visit the Mayo Clinic and learn about ways to engage with the hospital. A huge shout out and thank you to every single person from the eco-system, that made this exceptionally valuable!

Please, allow us to introduce yet another mentor with impressive experience and expertise: Anne Bloch Thomsen – Chief Medical Officer at Pfizer (FIND cluster)   In addition to unbeatable high level experience from companies such as Pfizer and Novo Nordisk; Anne is by no means new to the startup world. She serves on the board of a Swedish startup and even recently co-founded a startup that successfully raised a Series A in 2023.   “So much important innovation happens in start-ups. Thus, I am truly honored and pleased to hopefully be able to support and help NOME mentees navigate and solve some of the complex challenges facing all entrepreneurs in the startup phase by drawing on my own experiences from both small biotechs and global pharmaceutical companies. Day #2 of our Nordic Mentor Network For Entrepreneurship - NOME and MedTech Bridge US bootcamp is a wrap! Thanks to all the local innovators and executives who chose to spend time with us, and make us wiser on "all things US medtech market", Kermit Nash, Mark DuVal, J.D. FRAPS, Morgan Evans, Jolayne Devers, Carla Monacelli, Jeff Weness, and Tom KraMer! Thanks to Mary MacCarthy, MBA, Joshua Soldo, David Kaysen, and Kurt Waltenbaugh for joining us for lunch, and sharing some "battle stories" on your life science startup experiences. That is as valuable a learning as market entry strategies... And who said incubating your medtech business in the US has to be all work and no play? Not us - great baseball game to end the day :)

We started the week with a new mentor, and equally we end the week with another wonderful mentor presentation 🤩 Anders Boss has decades of experience in large pharma and biotech companies, from development to licensing, IPO and launch, both in the US and internationally – something that many companies are looking for. We are very excited to welcome back one of our own as a mentor! 🔥   Simon Glerup – Life Science Executive and Board Member   With his time as member of the innovation committee at Novo Nordisk Foundation, and his general extensive experience in life science entrepreneurship, including co-founding three biotech companies, Draupnir Bio that graduated from NOME in 2019, Muna Therapeutics, and Teitur Trophics that graduated from NOME in 2022, he will be a wonderful startup-mentor for the companies in NOME.   "The NOME journey was instrumental in my personal transition from academic to entrepreneur, and I look forward to mentoring the future rising stars of our ecosystem" – Simon Glerup   Give Simon a huge welcome back shout out!
