Today, our Head of Medical Excellence & Affiliate Operations, Karin Madsen, addressed attendees of the 6th Annual Global Medical Affairs Summit. Karin discussed significant transformations in medical affairs over recent years, emphasizing the evolving scientific and strategic leadership competencies required to drive this change. She also shared strategies for identifying, shaping and role modeling these competencies – and presented methods for attracting, retaining and developing top medical affairs talent and leaders.   Big thanks to Karin for sharing her unique insights with the medical affairs community today. 🌍 Today is World Environment Day – a fitting occasion to share that all of LEO Pharma’s production sites have transitioned to 100% renewable electricity, demonstrating our dedication to advancing the standard of care while driving sustainable impact. 🌍 Our strategic transition to renewable energy sources has been instrumental in reducing our carbon dioxide emissions. Our journey to full reliance on renewable sources began with our sites in Cork and Dublin (Ireland) in 2019, followed by Ballerup and Esbjerg (Denmark) in 2020 and Segrate (Italy) in 2021 before achieving final completion with our site in Vernouillet (France) earlier this year. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Lars Erik Vølund Kristensen, who has joined #LEOPharma as Vice President, Head of External Innovation. Well known for his contributions to the field of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases and with a wealth of experience in business development, scientific #partnerships as well as #innovation, Lars Erik will play a pivotal role in driving strategic partnerships, scouting and securing innovative assets, and identifying new opportunities for growth in line with the company's innovation strategy. In a little over a year, Lars Erik is the third high-profile and internationally recognized professor from the University of Copenhagen to join the team at LEO Pharma, following Professor Jacob Pontoppidan Thyssen, Chief Scientific Officer, and Professor Alexander Egeberg, Vice President, Global Head of Medical Affairs – emphasizing the company’s razor-sharp focus on addressing unmet needs of people living with skin diseases. Lars Erik has also served as an Associate Professor at Lund University in Sweden. He is an internal medicine - rheumatology specialist, holding MD, PhD and DMsci degrees. Additionally, he has held the position of Head of Research at the Parker Institute, Frederiksberg, & Bispebjerg Hospital in the Capital Region of Denmark. #DermatologyBeyondTheSkin

Today is #WorldHandHygieneDay 🌍 – an annual reminder of the importance of maintaining clean and healthy hands. At #LEOPharma, this day – May 5 ✋✋ – is also a reminder of our commitment as a leader in medical dermatology to addressing the needs of people living with #ChronicHandEczema (CHE) – a condition that affects up to 10% of the world’s population. (CHE is hand eczema that lasts for more than three months, or relapses twice or more often within a year.) Over the course of the week, we have highlighted some of the circumstances behind this overlooked and under-appreciated condition that impacts individuals as well as society.
