🥫 Our canned liver pâté is flying of the shelves in Denmark – can you guess why? 🥫 Each summer, the canned liver pâté called “Faaborg Leverpostej” is a favourite among Danish consumers, as the product is the perfect companion at festivals or on holiday ☀ But this summer, we have sold much more than expected. Last week, we sold four times as much Faaborg Leverpostej as we did in the same week last year 😮 The sales numbers have been rising with the growing prepping trend, and it took off after the Danish government announced that Danes should be prepared to take care of themselves for three days in case of a crisis. Consequently, the demand for canned products in general has also risen. That is why we are now ramping up production for the rest of July and in August, so that we can produce around 600,000 cans of liver pâté, besides all the other canned products our factory in Vejle produces, as you can see in the video 🤓 Have you bought more canned products in the last couple of months? Little did she know that Alba and Chef Micki, would conspire in our HQ Innovation Kitchen to make the “YUCKIEST bread bite” for Mom. Yes, they made it disgusting ON PURPOSE! Let’s get straight to it: the sun is out and that can mean just one thing… BARBEQUE TIME ⏱🍢🥓🥩

Help us celebrate our colleague Egon, who turns 80 years old today 🥳 Yes, you read that right. 80! 🤯 But still, Egon arrived at work early this morning at our abattoir in Horsens, as he does from Monday to Friday. That's just how Egon is – dedicated with a great passion for our industry 💪 Egon completed his butcher apprenticeship in 1964 at our abattoir in Horsens, but since then he has literally been around the world as the ship's cook on cargo ships for nearly 9 years and worked as a butcher in Greenland for many years. And, this September, he will also celebrate his 45th anniversary at Danish Crown 🤩 Back in 2009, Egon could have chosen to retire, but he saw no reason to do so. Instead, he comes to work and uses his vast experience to maintain the machinery used in the trimming of the tenderloin and the expensive, specialised 'Whizard knives' 👌 Even though Egon still enjoys going to work every day, he has said that he has celebrated his last Christmas at the abattoir. Egon's last day will be a sad one, as he is a great inspiration to many! Until that day, we will enjoy having him as a colleague and try to absorb his knowledge and strong mentality. Thank you, Egon! And happy birthday! 🥳

Tak for et fantastisk Folkemøde med udsolgte madboder og gode dialoger 🍔🗣 I lørdags sluttede Folkemødet 2024, som var en stor succes set med Danish Crown-briller 😎 Vores madboder har solgt rekordmange burgere, og Danish Crowns egen Restaurant Dyrbar var fyldt til bristepunktet alle aftener 😋 Alligevel er det svært at undgå at stå tilbage med et overskud af madvarer. Derfor arrangerede vi en ”fest med rester” i Restaurant Dyrbar lørdag aften, hvor menuen var sammensat ud fra et mål om at få brugt flest mulige rester 🍽 Der var dog stadig overskydende madvarer tilbage om søndagen, så Stop Madspild Rønne kom forbi og hentede alt det, de kunne bruge til at donere til dem, der har mest brug for det ❤ Udover maden har vi også været med til at debattere og deltaget i dialoger om en række forskellige ting, eksempelvis: 📢 Fremtidens fødevareproduktion i Danmark 📢 Måltidet og den danske madkultur 📢 Dyrevelfærd i dansk griseproduktion Hvis du ikke var så heldig at kunne være på Folkemødet, så risikerer vi måske at skubbe lidt til din misundelse med galleriet herunder 🤩 Tusind tak til jer, der har været forbi os for at få noget at spise, og til jer, der har debatteret med os.
