Apple TV suddenly stopped connecting to HomePod minis as main audio source

I have used two HomePod minis for quite a while now as my main audio source for my Apple TV in the bedroom. Last night I kept receiving an error that it could not connect to AirPlay for the speakers. The picture would constantly freeze, there was a delay with ANY action on the remote. As soon as I went back to using the television speaker, it worked fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like it’s the Apple tv. Did you try restarting it?

Restart Apple TV Try that and see if it resolves it. If not you can also try rebooting your wifi.

If you still have trouble with the remote, make sure it’s charged
