Dr. Baskaran, who last year received the University’s College of Professional Advancement Award for Excellence in Teaching, was one of 16 applicants selected for the Governor’s Teaching Fellowship Academic Year Symposium Program. The program allows participants to attend three-day symposia, held at the University of Georgia’s McBee Institute of Higher Education, six times over the academic year while also engaging in instructional improvement projects on their home campuses.

“I am thrilled and honored to be selected for the prestigious Governor’s Teaching Fellowship Program,” Dr. Baskaran said. “I am looking forward to contributing to our community and learning alongside fellow changemakers.”

As part of the fellowship program, Dr. Baskaran will redesign the course titled “Research Methods and Project Planning, Management for Health Informatics.” The required course is part of the major in Health Informatics program and is taken by seniors in their last semester.
