‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’
The work of director Yorgos Lanthimos is, shall we say, an acquired taste. For one, his actors deliver the dialogue in an extremely stilted, not-at-all natural manner that takes some real getting used to. Also, the themes of his films are incredibly intense. Knowing this up front is essential to getting into the vibe of The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, a truly bone-chilling psychological thriller that presents a modern-day riff on the Greek tragedy of Agamemnon and Iphigenia.
