‘Set It Up’

Not all Netflix romcoms are created equal. Most of the streamer’s catalog can be classified as “fun distractions,” but 2018’s endlessly charming Set It Up is one of the greats. Starring the winsome duo of Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell, the enchanting film about two New York assistants trying to play Cupid by setting up their demanding bosses (Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu) imbues a familiar story with copious amounts of wit and heart. Clever writing, a talented ensemble, and the undeniable chemistry between Deutch and Powell combine to make Set It Up a modern streaming classic. If you’re looking for a few more rom-com recs on Netflix, we love Plus One,13 Going on 30, Always Be My Maybe, No Hard Feelings, The Holiday, She’s All That, and Long Shot.
