‘Our Souls at Night’
The re-teaming of Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in a movie for the first time since the 1970s is the principal reason to give Our Souls at Night a look. That, plus the fact that it’s not like late-in-life romance stories are a dime a dozen. Redford and Fonda share an easy chemistry, which is good considering how quiet and unassuming the film is. No guns, no explosions, no screaming fights. This is a mellow movie about two people who just don’t want to sleep alone anymore. And it’s acted by two of the greatest screen legends we’ve got.
