‘Justified’ Season 3

There’s no such thing as a bad season of Justified. I’ve been rewatching the beloved neo-Western as I eagerly await the premiere of Justified: City Primeval (set to debut later this year), and I forgot just how much I love the third season. Season 2 is probably the best season of Justified (aka Raylan vs. the Bennett clan), but the third installment is one of the most enjoyable seasons of television you’ll watch all year. The cat-and-mouse game between Raylan and Boyd is enhanced by a slew of captivating characters, including the charismatic duo of Robert Quarles (Neal McDonough) and Ellstin Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson). Justified was never short on charm or bravado, and Season 3 is just as satisfying as a cool glass of bourbon on a scorching summer evening.

‘Kinsey’

In honor of Pride Month, we should celebrate Alfred Kinsey, pioneer sexologist and creator of the Kinsey Scale. The best way to do that is by watching the film Kinsey, which tells the story of the scientist’s life and career. Liam Neeson stars as Kinsey, who started as a biologist before his fascination and knowledge of sexuality caused him to...

‘Out Of Darkness’

Earth. 45,000 years ago. There's no shelter, no power, and ... gasp ... NO WIFI!! (I can already hear you screaming.) That's the setting for Out Of Darkness, a new survival horror/thriller from director Andrew Cumming. The film follows a small band of paleolithic-era humans who have crossed violent seas and trudged across intimidatingly vast...

‘The Lion King’ (1994)

30 years ago this week, The Lion King hit theaters. It's the fifth film in the 10 year Disney Renaissance period, and for my money, the best one (it might even be my favorite Disney movie, period, but don't quote me on that!). The Lion King has all the hallmarks of a great Disney Renaissance movie: a banging score (Hans Zimmer did not come to...
