‘Heartbreak High’ Season 1
Missing Sex Education? We hear you. Did you know there’s another show on Netflix right now that will fill that Sex Ed void? Welcome to Heartbreak High. The Netflix original is a reboot of the early 90s Australian teen drama of the same name; it’s set in the same school and features the children of some characters from the original series — in that regard (and others, you’ll come to realize), it’s basically Australian Degrassi: The Next Generation. When a “sex map” is discovered graffitied onto a school wall, connecting who’s done what with who, all of the students whose names appear are forced to take a series of antiquated sex ed course. Over the course of eight episodes, these students learn more about themselves and each other as they break up, make up, fight, sleep together, explore their sexualities, and more. Plus, it has an ending that’ll leave you wanting more immediately — and luckily, you won’t have to wait much longer for Season 2 since it’s dropping next month.
