‘Cinderella’ (1950)
After a lengthy gap, Walt Disney returned to the Disney Princess well with Cinderella. Though it would be decades until the company would perfect their formula, the fairy tale adaptation is still delightful, filled with frothy songs and beautiful animation. Perhaps most surprisingly, half the movie is taken up with Tom & Jerry style antics as a house cat chases several adorable mice. But the true stand-out is Cinderelly herself, who is subtly sarcastic in a way that would make her fit right in with more modern Disney animated characters like Moana, or Elsa.
