‘Bobby’s Triple Threat’
The best cooking competition shows understand that audiences really want one thing: chefs at the top of their game cooking delicious-looking food. Bobby’s Triple Threat knows that, and as a result, continues to produce some of the most exciting TV cooking in a long time by letting some of the best chefs in the world just do their thing. The show’s premise is simple: each episode, one highly decorated chef cooks three rounds against Bobby Flay’s “titans:” Top Chef winners Michael Voltaggio and Brooke Williamson, and two-time Top Chef chef-testant Tiffany Derry. Flay doesn’t try to make things difficult on purpose by picking must-include ingredients that actually go together, rather than two random items the chefs then have to make work. Bobby’s Triple Threat is truly some of the most tense and exciting food TV we have right now, and you won’t have to wait long for new episodes after you inevitably binge the first two seasons; Season 3 premieres next Tuesday, July 9 and will stream on Max.
