Hulu Live TV Streaming: What It Is and How to Watch It

There’s no shortage of options for streamers looking to cut the ol’ cord. From YouTube TV and Philo to fuboTV and Sling TV, the market is flooded with a dizzying array of stellar streaming options. One of the most popular services is Hulu + Live TV.

Hulu + Live TV is a live TV streaming option you can purchase individually or add to any traditional Hulu account. The service offers a variety of channels, the ability to watch programs on demand, and even includes a subscription to an ad-supported version of Hulu.

Is Hulu + Live TV the right service for you? Below, we’ve broken down everything you need to know about it.

WHAT IS HULU LIVE TV?

Hulu + Live TV, as the name suggests, is Hulu’s live TV streaming option. Featuring an assortment of live sports, news, and events, the service offers over 85 channels and the ability to watch TV live and stream on demand. A subscription to Hulu + Live TV also includes subscriptions to Disney+ and ESPN+. Hulu’s live TV experience allows you to watch on unlimited screens on your home wifi and three on the go. You’ll also be able to record your favorite live shows with unlimited cloud DVR storage included with a basic subscription.

HOW MUCH IS HULU LIVE TV?

After a price increase on October 12, 2023, Hulu + Live TV now costs $76.99/month for a subscription bundle that includes the ad-supported versions of Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ on top of the live channels.

If you prefer to stream without ads, the Hulu (no ads) + Live TV, Disney+ (no ads) and ESPN+ bundle costs $89.99/month. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

If you don’t care about streaming and just want Live TV, you can get a Live TV Only subscription, which will include the unlimited screens and cloud DVR, but exclude the Disney Bundle streaming add-ons, for $75.99/month.

WHAT ADD-ONS DOES HULU + LIVE TV OFFER?

Hulu + Live TV also offers the following premium add-ons: Max ($15.99/month), Showtime ($10.99/month), Cinemax ($9.99/month), and Starz ($9.99/month). With the exception of some Max Originals, all of the content from these add-ons will be accessible directly in the Hulu app.

In addition to the premium network add-ons, you can also purchase channel bundles for an additional monthly cost. For $9.99/month, you can get the Sports Add-On, which gives you six channels, including NFL Red Zone. The Entertainment Networks Add-On gives you access to an additional 17 of the best cooking, lifestyle, and entertainment channels for an extra $7.99/month. The Español Networks Add-On is $4.99/month extra, and includes the Spanish-language versions of seven channels.

Local channels vary by location, but Hulu + Live TV offers: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, ESPN 2, The CW, A&E, FX, Pop TV, TBS, USA, CNN, Disney Channel, E!, FS1, CNBC, and many more.

DOES HULU + LIVE TV OFFER A FREE TRIAL?

No, Hulu + Live TV does not currently offer a free trial.

As the Hulu website states, you’ll need a subscription, a supported device, and a high-speed internet connection to enjoy Hulu + Live TV.
