Fall 2023 TV Schedule: Premiere Dates For New Shows And Seasons

Fall is just around the corner, which means it’s time to talk fall TV schedules.

As TV lovers know, fall is usually an exciting time filled with highly-anticipated lineups packed with new shows, returning faves, and a delightful balance of scripted and unscripted series. While Fall 2023 broadcast schedules aren’t completely devoid of fresh content, this year’s lineups will look noticeably different in the wake of ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Until the heads of major broadcast networks and streaming companies come to a fair agreement with writers, actors, and other invaluable union members on strike, production on scripted series involving WGA and SAG-AFTRA members is halted. That’s why 2023’s fall TV lineups are entirely comprised of unscripted series, repeats, sports, and banked content.

Fall TV won’t be the same without scripted shows like Abbott Elementary, which shut down production on Season 3 until the strikes conclude. So if you need a silver lining, take comfort in the fact that this unscripted lineup serves as a crucial reminder that our favorite shows quite literally can’t exist without the talent and hard work of writers, actors, and other union members out on the picket lines.

So what shows do we have to look forward to this fall? Though ABC is still finalizing its lineup, you can expect returning favorites like Celebrity Jeopardy, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Shark Tank, and Bachelor in Paradise. Plus, the highly-anticipated new series The Golden Bachelor premieres in September. CBS has Yellowstone reruns in store, while The CW has Son of a Critch, Sullivan’s Crossing, and FBOY Island on the docket. Fox is bringing back reality shows like Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and animated classics like The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy. And NBC has The Voice, football, and more on its list.
