After the three months are up, you’ll be charged $12 each month to the card saved as default on your Amazon Prime account.

What is Kindle Unlimited?

Kindle Unlimited is Amazon’s subscription-based service that let readers access over 4 million e-books for one monthly price.

It works similarly to a library, so you borrow books (up to 20 at a time), read them, and return them. You’ll also get access to audiobooks and subscriptions to digital copies of popular magazines.

Kindle Unlimited’s catalog changes often, with books coming off of and joining the service all of the time. However, once you borrow a book, it stays in your library until you return it, even if that book is no longer available to borrow on Kindle Unlimited.

We recommend borrowing books when you see them, even if you don’t plan on reading them right away because you never know when they might disappear from the service.

With Kindle in the name, you may assume you need a Kindle to read Kindle Unlimited e-books. While you can (and we love the Kindle Paperwhite), the Amazon Kindle app on smartphones and tablets will also let you access the books.

Is Kindle Unlimited Worth It?

If you’re an avid reader or trying to get back into reading, yes!

We say this, though, with the caveat that it all depends on what genres you read most. Romance readers will likely get the most out of Kindle Unlimited due to the library being very romance-heavy, but with some digging into the catalog, it’s possible every kind of reader will find something to love on Kindle Unlimited.
