Andy Cohen once found himself in hot water with Donald Trump when Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice called him “broke” on Watch What Happens Live.

On today’s episode of his Sirius XM radio show Andy Cohen Live, Cohen opened up about the few run-ins he’s had with the former president while talking to Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass author Ramin Setoodeh.

“I’m just remembering when Teresa called Trump broke on Watch What Happens Live and he called me at Bravo. I remember his assistant putting the call through,” Cohen recalled. “And he was furious at [Giudice]. And he was like, ‘You need to do a retraction!’ It was a whole thing.”

Cohen continued, “Somehow I said, ‘Listen, you need to talk to Teresa about this,'” noting that he believes Giudice “wound up posting a retraction or something.”

“But I remember him calling. He was really pissed,” Cohen added. “He was very, at the time, sensitive about people saying he was broke. That was a huge thing for him.”

Despite their confrontation, Trump had nothing but kind words to say about Giudice’s 2012 stint on Celebrity Apprentice when he sat down for his interview with Setoodeh.

“He was talking about Teresa being on Celebrity Apprentice and how great she was and how he helped her find the charity that she did for children that suffered from kidney issues and how much money she raised,” the author said.

Cohen, for his part, did have some positive memories about Trump — whom he described as “very funny” during their interview at a “big TV convention” in Las Vegas years ago.

“I had met him a couple of times. I had never interviewed him. He never came on Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen said. “And it was a very funny interview because he was putting on a big show. So I think that was his genre.”

The Bravo staple also hosted “two beauty pageants” for Trump before he “turned on him” — which is why he fears the Republican nominee will target him if he beats President Joe Biden in November.

“I will tell you. If he gets elected, I’m gonna stop talking about him because he keeps an enemies list,” Cohen said, before joking, “I think that I would be audited in the first year.”
