Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Powered by Reelgood

This week’s new movies on VOD include a couple of this year’s biggest movies: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, arrived on demand this week, as did Studio Ghibli’s The Boy and the Heron.

The comedy/mystery Reunion is also available this week. This new film sounds kinda like Apple TV+’s The Afterparty: a party-goer attending his 20th high school reunion mysteriously dies, and the rest of his former classmates are left to solve the murder. The ensemble cast includes Lil Rel Howery, Billy Magnussen, Jillian Bell, Nina Dobrev, Jamie Chung, and Chace Crawford as the dead guy.

These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Set before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa is essentially the origin story of Imperator Furiosa, the character first portrayed by Charlize Theron. In Furiosa, Anya Taylor-Joy plays the title character whose kidnapping by the cruel warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) eventually leads her to seek vengeance on him. After less than 30 days in theaters, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is out this week on demand.

The Boy And The Heron

Filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki came out of retirement to make his Oscar-winning film The Boy and the Heron, a semi-autobiographical story about a boy named Mahito Maki who encounters a talking heron who takes him on a fantastical adventure after the death of Mahito’s mother. The film’s voice cast includes Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Christian Bale, and Gemma Chan.
