Some people have their boundaries in life, and Whoopi Goldberg is one of them. When Hot Ones host Sean Evans visited The View today, a spread of chicken wings and an array of some of the hottest hot sauces featured on his show were laid out for The View panelists to eat while he chatted with them about his infamous talk show, but Goldberg refused to sample even one of them.

Sunny Hostin was eager to try even the hottest sauces (there were two versions of The Last Dab available, which is the hottest sauce that Hot Ones guests are asked to eat, but sadly Evans did not bring the notoriously hot and terrible Da Bomb sauce), sarcastically asking at one point while trying one of the sauces, “Is this supposed to be hot?”

“She’s trying to get on your show,” Goldberg told Evans, while Sara Haines told her co-host, “Sunny, don’t get cocky.”

Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin seemed equally excited to try some of the hot wings, while Joy Behar hilariously ate hers with a fork, a detail no one seemed to notice.

But Goldberg refrained and simply observed as her co-hosts went to town. Evans, when asked who he would like to have on Hot Ones, then revealed that his dream guests would include Keanu Reeves and David Letterman, adding that Goldberg would also be a welcome guest.

“Whoopi, I loved your Sneaker Shopping episode, that’s one of my favorite Sneaker Shopping episodes,” he told her, referring to the Complex web series she participated in back in 2018.

Goldberg responded, “Here’s the thing, I don’t like hot food, so you and I would have to have a whole different kind of conversation.”

“Thank you for coming on,” she then told Evans. “It’s kind of fun to watch everybody start sweating. But again, I’m not following anyone into the bathroom.”

As she closed out the segment, everyone else at the table was busy wiping their brows and fanning themselves and probably praying for sweet relief. But not Goldberg, because she knows her boundaries.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
