Since its premiere in December 2020, Bridgerton has captured the hearts of millions of viewers, mostly due to its cast of compelling characters and steamy sexual tension. Along the way, it has also captured the ears of those viewers, too, for each season of Bridgerton has cultivated an exciting soundtrack featuring original orchestral stylings of the trendiest pop songs of recent years. That pattern has continued into Bridgerton Season 3.

The third season of the hit Netflix series is being released in two parts. The first part was released on May 16, while the second part will be released on June 13, with four episodes in each part. Like the previous two seasons, Season 3 is focusing on the romantic life of a Bridgerton sibling. This season, there has been a focus on the third oldest sibling, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

The romance of the season is between Colin and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), the youngest Featherington sibling. The two have been friends for years, but they did not think a romantic relationship was in the cards between the two of them. In Season 3, everything about that perception changes as feelings start to pop up. Suddenly, they each can not stop thinking about each other. However, there are some obstacles that each of them will have to face if they want a happily ever after. Will love actually conquer all?

One thing’s for sure, the third season of Bridgerton is full of intrigue and captivating romance that audiences are eating up. With storylines this juicy, there needs to be a great soundtrack for the season in order to set the tone. Fortunately, the people behind Bridgerton understand that notion as well. That is why they have cultivated a fun soundtrack for season 3 that put s a new spin on viewers’ favorite songs.

What Songs Are Used in Bridgerton Season 3?

Most people likely did not think pop songs needed orchestral covers. Fortunately, Bridgerton showed why these covers are versions that people did not know that they needed. These songs blend in well with the series, as they combine the old fashioned setting with the passionate romance. Some covers from the third season include “Snow on the Beach” by Taylor Swift ft Lana Del Rey and “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish. It was only natural that one of the most popular series of the moment would feature songs by some of the most popular singers of the moment.

Other songs include the 2021 breakout hit “abcdefu” by Gayle and the long-lasting song “Cheap Thrills” by Sia ft. Sean Paul. There was also a cover of the smash BTS hit “Dynamite,” and the melodic song “Jealous” by Nick Jonas. There was also “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull ft. Afrojack, Ne-Yo, and Nayer, which has recently gone viral on TikTok.

Part 2 of the season is also set to have some exciting covers. There will be even more Taylor Swift with a cover of her hit song “You Belong With Me.” There will also be some trendy pop stars that will be given the orchestral treatment, such as Demi Lovato with her hit “Confident,” Ariana Grande through her song “POV,” and Ellie Goulding’s popular song “Lights.” Other songs from the second part of season three include covers of songs by rock bands, such “Yellow” by Coldplay and “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons. While we do not know yet where these songs will go, these covers will certainly be exciting additions to the series.

While all of the seasons have had great soundtracks, what makes season 3’s soundtrack different from the previous season is that for the first time, there will be an original song. Pop singer Tori Kelly’s new song “All I Want” was written for the series and it will premiere as a cover in part two of season three. This move demonstrates how the importance of music for the series is being highlighted by the people behind the show. They want to provide catchy music created specifically for the series that will get everyone talking.

Previous Songs Used in Bridgerton Seasons 1 and 2

Bridgerton has a long history of orchestral covers of modern songs. Viewers have definitely noticed those covers and have loved what they add to the show. They pair with some of the modern sensibilities that are in this period drama. It says something that even with all of the drama and excitement of the first two seasons, the songs have still been able to be standouts.

The show’s first season began the pattern of these covers, starting off strong with covers of Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish hits (“Wildest Dreams” and “Bad Guy,” respectively). Other popular singers featured include Ariana Grande, with her hit “Thank U, Next,” and Shawn Mendes, who was included with his big song “In My Blood.” The list goes on for popular songs included, and audiences ate them all up.

Season 2 was able to ride the wave of the first season’s popularity, both in compelling stories and in a unique soundtrack. There were some modern pop hits turned into orchestral covers, such as “Diamonds” by Rihanna, “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus, and “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn.

In season two, it was not just 21st century songs that got an orchestral spin. There were also some slightly older pop songs that got this treatment, such as “Material Girl” by Madonna, “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette, and “Smells like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. These songs may have been jams at the top of the charts decades ago, but people still listen to them today and the people working on Bridgerton have recognized what these songs could add to the series.
