Michael Chiklis is one proud papa.
The Hotel Cocaine star joined Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning, where he opened up about his eldest daughter Autumn’s upcoming wedding.
“You guys are going to ruin my rep right now because I could cry right now talking about it,” he said, “but my oldest, she’s getting married at the end of this month.”
Consuelos checked in to see if Chiklis likes his future son-in-law, which Chiklis confirmed.
“I love him,” he said. “He’s wonderful. He’s a beautiful guy, and they’ve been together for a while.”
Chiklis also reflected on the “lovely” way Autumn’s fiancé asked for he and his wife’s permission.
“He called us, he said, ‘Autumn’s going to be out next Saturday. Can I come over and talk to you and Michelle?'” he recalled. “He came over and made us a beautiful dinner, and he asked us properly for her hand. A true gentleman. Of course we cried, and it was lovely.”
He swiftly transitioned to more light-hearted commentary, quipping that he’s “put more pre-production into this thing than any movie [he’s] ever done.”
“I swear it’s just like so much time and effort,” he continued. “It ends up being one night. And we’ve been saying to the kids, ‘Keep your sense of humor. Something’s bound to go wrong.'”
Ripa joked, “Do they say that to you since you have to pay for the wedding?”
Chiklis chuckled and replied, “Yes. Well, I’m numb at this point… It’s insane. Mindy Weiss, the great Mindy Weiss is doing our wedding. She’s incredible.”
He eventually shared that he and his daughter have been rehearsing their “daddy and me dance,” just prior to viewers being shown a video clip of him and his daughter dancing to Phill Collins’ “You’ll Be In My Heart.”

Consuelos said, “Look at you, Michael.”
Chiklis teased, “I’m crying right now.”
Once the cameras returned to the soundstage, Consuelos empathized with Chiklis.
“I think about our daughter, and every time I think about it, I can’t. I have to stop,” he said.
Teary-eyed, Chiklis said, “Like, it’s happening to me now. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t… She’s just magnificent. You should see her in her gown. It’s too much… “
He then joked to the audience, “Wow, see?,” referring to his sudden onset of emotions.
On that note, Consuelos grabbed some tissues for Chiklis, which he politely declined.
“I’m good,I’m good, I’m good,” he insisted.
