Rian Johnson, the writer and director of Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is giving a peek at his latest work. The creator published a brief teaser that revealed the title of the third film in the series in a post on X today.

The upcoming film, which Johnson is writing with his frequent collaborator Ram Bergman, will be titled Wake Up, Dead Man, and will premiere some time in 2025.

“The next Benoit Blanc mystery, the follow-up to Knives Out and Glass Onion, is called Wake Up Dead Man,” Johnson wrote on X.

Included in his post is a video narrated by Craig in character as Blanc, who says, “In the beginning, the knives came out. Then behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.”

The previous two films featured rotating ensemble casts, with only Craig appearing in both as the dandy detective Blanc. The teaser confirms that Craig will be back playing Blanc for the third film, though no other casting or plot details are currently available.

Johnson also posted today that the film is about to go into production, noting that he was “excited” to reveal more information to fans.

The original Knives Out film, which co-starred Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Jamie Lee Curtis (among many others), premiered in theaters in 2019.

Netflix then secured the rights to two sequels for a whopping $469 million. The first, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which featured Janelle Monae, Edward Norton, and Kate Hudson among its many stars, came to theaters in November 2022, and then moved over to Netflix where it’s still streaming.

Wake Up, Dead Man, will be the second film released under the Netflix deal.
