As the tenth installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand and William H. Macy — and the movie is coming to theaters this weekend. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this new science-fiction action flick!

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place 300 years after the events of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. With Caesar’s reign long in the past, apes are now the dominant species, while humans are living feral lives in the shadows in a world that’s under the rule of a new tyrannical ape king. However, a young chimpanzee and a human girl embark on a mission to form a future for both humans and apes.

So, where can you watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes? Will it be on Netflix? What about Max?

WHERE TO WATCH KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES:

UPDATE 6/21/24: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be available on digital platforms beginning Tuesday, July 9.

As of now, the only way to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, May 10. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon, or available to stream on Hulu. WHEN WILL KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES BE ON STREAMING? WILL KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES BE ON HULU?

Since Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is being distributed by 20th Century Studios, it will eventually make its way to either Disney+ or Hulu. However, it’s more likely that it will stream on the latter since that’s where most of the company’s more adult content lands.

While a streaming release date has not yet been announced, we can make a guess based on A Haunting in Venice — which came to Hulu about 45 days after debuting in theaters. If Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes follows the same trajectory, you might be able to watch it from the comfort of your home by late June 2024.

No, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will not be on Max — previously known as HBO Max —since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie.

WILL KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES BE ON NETFLIX?

No, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. While it’s possible the film may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on streaming.
