Not every one of Emily Blunt‘s on-screen kisses has been picture perfect, according to the actress herself.

The Fall Guy star recently opened up to Howard Stern on his eponymous radio show last Tuesday (April 30), where she was asked if she’s ever “wanted to throw up” after shooting an on-screen smooch, per People.

“Absolutely, absolutely,” she shared. “I wouldn’t say it’s sort of extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it.”

Blunt also revealed that she’s “had chemistry” with co-stars she hasn’t liked. Although she would not identify who she was referring to, she also explained that “sometimes you could have a rapport that’s really effortless, but it doesn’t translate on-screen.”

“Chemistry is this strange thing. It’s an ethereal thing that you can’t really bottle up and buy or sell. It’s like there or it’s not,” she continued. “It’s just easier when you have a natural rapport with someone.”

In terms of what she does to foster chemistry with a co-star, she said that she’s “got to find something [she] love[s]” about them.

“It might be that they have a nice laugh or I like how they speak to people. They’re polite. I mean, it might be something random,” she shared. “But find something you love about that person or something you love about them as the character and then kind of lean into that.”

Blunt seemingly ruled out Ryan Gosling as a possible suspect for a poor scene partner. She shared her praised for her Fall Guy co-star — whom she shared a kiss with in their new action comedy — with Stern.

“I love his wife, Eva [Mendes]. I love their children, and I feel like I’m very lucky to be friends with a gem of a person like him,” she said.

Meanwhile, for those speculating who Blunt may be talking about, other former co-stars she has kissed on-screen include Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), Colin Firth (Arthur & Mike), Matt Damon (The Adjustment Bureau), Tom Cruise (Edge of Tomorrow), and Jamie Dornan (Wild Mountain Thyme).

Funnily enough, Blunt and Damon talked about on-screen kisses in a July 2023 LADbible YouTube segment, during which both of them agreed that they should inform someone if they have bad breath, especially ahead of shooting an intimate scene.

The Fall Guy is in theaters now.
