Tragically, no! School’s out AGAIN. There’s no new Abbott Elementary episode airing on ABC this Wednesday, April 24, which means fans only got two episodes this month. The good news is we don’t have to wait too long for the series to return. Here’s when you can expect new Abbott Season 3 episodes.

When Does Abbott Elementary Return With New Episodes? Abbott Elementary Season 3, Episode 11 Premiere Date

The next new episode of Abbott Elementary — aka Season 3, Episode 11 — premieres on Wednesday, May 1 from 9:00 to 9:32 p.m. ET with next-day streaming on Hulu.

ABC’s official logline for Abbott Elementary Season 3, Episode 11, “Double Date” is as follows: “Two teachers head out on a double date, but when they run into familiar bar patrons, it proves to be an unfortunate distraction. At Ava’s first book club meeting, the group ends up in a debate over who would be the best post-apocalyptic leader.”

Judging by the preview photos, “Double Date” will also feature special guest star Lana Condor from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Her character appears to be…on a date with Gregory?! Yeah. We need this episode ASAP.

When Does Abbott Elementary Season 3, Episode 12 Premiere On ABC?

So you developed trust issues after yet another week without Abbott Elementary and are already wondering when Season 3, Episode 12 premieres? Same! Following “Double Date,” the next new episode of Abbott, “Mother’s Day,” premieres on Wednesday, May 8 from 9:00 to 9:32 p.m. ET. Per ABC, “Barbara invites Gregory to her family’s Mother’s Day brunch. Jacob scrambles to figure out how to organize a school field trip.”

How Many Episodes Are In Abbott Elementary Season 3?

When Decider interviewed Abbott Elementary‘s co-creators and co-showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker back in April, the hope for Season 3 was another 22-episode order like Season 2. Schumacker was sure to note that the plan could be derailed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and it was. “On a pragmatic level, in the event of a strike, that could affect the amount of episodes in the season. In the last strike, if I recall, the example is like Breaking Bad did seven episodes,” Schumacker explained.

In November, Deadline reported that “ABC and Warner Bros. TV were in a tussle over Abbott Elementary, with ABC asking for 13 [episodes] and the studio pushing for 17.”

Ultimately, Abbott Elementary Season 3 will consist of 14 episodes, which Brunson confirmed to Deadline was “because of the strike, and because of the airing schedule, because of what ABC has room for on their schedule.”
