Jonathan Majors Will Not Receive Jail Time After Being Found Guilty For Reckless Assault And Harassment

Actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment after a trial in December 2023, and today, he has been sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program as his punishment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Majors was facing up to one year in prison. Prosecutors had also asked for a full order of protection for Majors’ ex, Grace Jabbari, which was granted.

THR also reports that the 52-week program will “take place in person in Los Angeles.” Majors must also continue mental health therapy and update the court on his treatment. If he does not follow his sentencing, Majors could face nearly a year in jail.

Majors was arrested on March 25, 2023 following Jabbari’s allegations of domestic violence. According to Jabbari, the couple had gotten into a fight when she saw a text message from another woman on the actor’s phone. She claimed that while she was trying to retrieve his phone, Majors grabbed her arm and right hand, twisted her arm and hit her in the head.

Majors pleaded not guilty to all of charges, but after a nearly two-week trial, a jury found him not guilty of intentional assault in the third degree and not guilty of aggravated harassment in the second degree, but guilty on the charges of reckless assault and harassment.

In March 2024, Jabbari filed another lawsuit against Majors, accusing him of “a pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023,” as well as defamation, for which she is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
