The View kicked off the week by welcoming back one of their favorite guests, Kyra Sedgwick, who has been on the show a whopping 15 times. While she’s practically qualified to be a co-host at this point, Sedgwick still brought some fresh new content to the Hot Topics table — including an inside look at working with her husband, Kevin Bacon.

Sara Haines got the Bacon chat going when she asked her guest about her upcoming project, Connescence, which marks Bacon and Sedgwick’s first film together in decades.

“You are back on the screen with you husband, Kevin Bacon, of 35 years. Of course you shared the screen before in The Woodsman, Pyrates and Lemon Sky, where I think you guys met, if I am correct. And you play love interests in this new movie, kind of,” Haines said. “Does that make things easier when the love is already there?”

“I mean, I think the thing that you have to hide is the fact that you’ve known each other for 35 years. I mean, you’re usually playing strangers who meet — and it’s a rom-com, it’s far from coming out, so don’t go looking for it yet — and hopefully we’re good enough actors that you will believe us and buy into these characters,” Sedgwick said.

She added, “Of course you will, because it’s not us, at all. But it’s great working together, it’s really fun.”

Haines then dug a little deeper, asking, “I remember the movie Pyrates. If anyone hasn’t seen Pyrates, there’s a pretty crazy intimacy scene. So was that harder?”

Sedgwick, laughing, replied, “Yes, definitely, because you’re like, again, you’re trying to make it look like this is the first time. It’s definitely not.”

Sedgwick previously opened up about working on the Pyrates sex scene with her husband, telling Yahoo Entertainment she had “really wanted” to work on the film, but struggled to find a male lead.

“I asked Kevin if he would read the script, and he liked the idea of us doing it together. We didn’t think, ‘Is it weird for us to do a sex comedy?’ At the time, we were newly married and had our first kid, so the idea of us playing this couple that has such great sex that the room spontaneously bursts into flame was really funny,” she said.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
