Stephen Colbert did not hold back when commenting on Thursday’s bizarre State of the Union address. Though he didn’t comment on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s bold MAGA outfit, he did have some words for another unexpected guest.
“I hear you asking out there: ‘Steve, were there any thirsty-ass bitches in the audience?’” he said during his monologue.
“The answer is yes,” Colbert continued. “Because thanks to rules giving former members of Congress floor access, George Santos attended the State of the Union.”
He then used the opportunity to take a show at Jon Stewart, who recently made the surprising choice to return to host The Daily Show on Monday nights ahead of the upcoming election.
“Come on! You can’t just go back to your old job like you never left,” Colbert — a former Daily Show staffer — said, adding: “Unless you’re Jon Stewart. Keep it up, Jon—you’re crushing it!”
Colbert also took shots at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who was noticeably absent, and House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Thomas was the only SCOTUS member who did not attend President Joe Biden‘s address.

“It’s nice to know he’s willing to recuse himself from something,” Colbert said of the embattled judge, who was recently found to be taking luxury trips that were paid for by his billionaire friends.
Colbert also noticed Johnson standing by Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Because he was standing that close to a woman, his son got an alert on his phone,” Colbert joked, referring to the porn monitoring software Johnson reportedly installed on his and his son’s cell phones.
