Not everyone can say they’ve worked with Robin Williams. But, then again, not everyone is Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

On Monday night’s (Feb. 19) episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Oscar-nominated actress joined host Andy Cohen and Second Husband Douglas Emhoff for some usual shenanigans at the Bravo Clubhouse.

However, things took a sentimental turn during the WWHL: After Show when virtual fans asked Randolph about her experience working with the late Williams in the 2014 comedy-drama The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.

“He went out of his way to spend time with me and that was my first movie — or, professional job I’ve ever done,” she recalled. “I didn’t ask for it but he made it his business and he shared so many things with me — the dos and don’ts — and reminded me to always have fun and do it for the people.”

Randolph added, “It was surreal. I will never forget that experience.”

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, which also stars Mila Kunis and Peter Dinklage, follows a perpetually bitter man (played by Williams) who goes on a journey to right his wrongs after he suffers a brain aneurysm and is only given 90 minutes to live.

The film came out in theaters mere months before Williams took his own life, making it the last movie of his to be released while he was still alive.

In the decade since working alongside Williams, Randolph has forged her own name in the Hollywood industry. The actress starred in series like Only Murders in the Building and The Idol, before garnering her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Holdovers.

“It’s amazing to be amongst these people and meeting these people that before were just on my movie screen and on my TV screen,” she told Cohen, referring to her experience in the award show circuit. “To now be like, ‘Hey, what’s up,’ it’s crazy. It’s surreal.”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
