The View is looking ahead to 2024 and casting their predictions about who Donald Trump could choose as his running mate if he secures the Republican nomination.

As moderator Whoopi Goldberg told the panel that Republicans are fighting within the party about who should be Trump’s VP pick, she noted, “He may pick somebody we’ve never heard of!”

Joy Behar of course had other thoughts as she quipped, “If he has a sense of humor he’ll pick Marjorie Taylor Greene,” earning boos from the studio audience.

She added, “That’ll keep comedians in business for four years.”

After Behar’s humorous suggestion, Alyssa Farah Griffin got serious. Griffin, who personally knows Trump after working in his White House for years, reminded the table, “He is running to stay out of jail so he actually wants to win, so I think he’s going to choose either a woman or a Black man, because he knows he needs women who are turned off by abortion—”

Before she could continue, Behar interrupted to ask, “What Black man? Tim Scott?” suggesting the South Carolina Senator whom she feuded with, who was later invited onto The View to rather disastrous results.

Griffin confirmed, “Tim Scott is on the shortlist,” but Sunny Hostin wasn’t buying it.

She shot back, “I don’t think his base likes Black people that much.”

Griffin gave a small laugh before replying, “[Trump] is making inroads with Black men.”

Yet, she didn’t name a Black candidate as her prediction for Trump’s “favorite” for 2024. Instead, Griffin set her sights on Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Governor of Arkansas, as Trump’s likely VP. While Griffin said Elise Stefanik is also a contender for the role, she noted that she’ll face the same issues as Nikki Haley, who has been shunned by the MAGA crowd as an old-guard Republican, per Politico.

While Griffin has been a vocal supporter of Haley in the 2024 race, she clarified on today’s show that she would no longer support the former South Carolina governor if she accepted an offer to be Trump’s running mate.

“I would not support that ticket, and I’m a little fearful she would do it, because I know Jared [Kushner] and Ivanka [Trump] have pushed that,” she said.

Recalling how Trump asked her in June 2020 if he should tap Haley as a replacement for his Vice President, Mike Pence, Griffin noted, “I know he thinks she’s very qualified.”
