Ian Ziering has broken his silence about his New Year’s Eve brawl with a group of bikers. Just one day after the incident, the Beverly Hills 90210 actor called out the “hooliganism on our streets” and urged law enforcement to do something about it.

In video footage obtained by TMZ, the actor appears to be surrounded by a group of people on mini-bikes. At one point, he exits his car and gets into a physical confrontation before he is circled by multiple fist-swinging individuals and chased across Hollywood Boulevard.

“Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” he wrote on Instagram. “While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

Ziering said he was “relieved to report” that he and his 12-year-old daughter Mia, who was also present during the scuffle, were “both completely unscathed.” However, he said he was left “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”

He continued, “This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”

The Sharknado star called himself an “advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct,” while imploring society to address “the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone.”

“I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences,” Ziering added, before concluding, “I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time. It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year.”

The Los Angeles Police Department told CW affiliate KTLA that they responded to reports of a fight around 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve after the bikers were allegedly driving recklessly. As of now, the incident remains under investigation.
