Last month, Jerry Seinfeld teased that his Emmy Award-winning sitcom Seinfeld may soon return for more. If that’s true, then it seems the rest of the cast hasn’t gotten the memo.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who played Elaine Benes on the show, has already gone on record to say that she heard Seinfeld’s comments, but hadn’t been reached out to about it. She said last month, “I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about.”

Now Jason Alexander is the latest Seinfeld star to offer words about the potential new reboot. In a recent interview with Extra, Alexander, who portrayed George Costanza, publicly reacted to the information for the first time.

“There’s only one reason for that rumor. Jerry apparently at the end of some stand-up thing went, ‘Well, Larry [David] and I are thinking of something,’ and I go, ‘Good for you, I don’t know anything about it.’ No one called me,” he said. “Apparently they don’t need George”

Alexander went on,”And they may not need Elaine, because Julia and I went, ‘Do you know anything about this?’ She went, ‘I don’t know anything about this.'”

He added that he also checked in with Cosmo Kramer actor Michael Richards, who had not heard anything about the reboot, either.

Alexander then discussed how he still keeps in touch with some of his former Seinfeld cast-mates and even took a moment to promote some of their latest projects, including Louis-Dreyfus’s comedy-drama film You Hurt My Feelings, which came out in May 2023.

Seinfeld originally aired on NBC from 1989 to 1998, ending with a two-part finale that left its four main characters in jail for a year, and many viewers torn on how to react. This is also not the first time that Seinfeld has teased a future for his breakout sitcom and possibility of giving fans an alternate ending. In a 2018 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedian said that a reboot is “possible.”

Here’s hoping he lets the rest of the cast in on the details whenever it finally happens. Until then, Seinfeld is now available to stream on Netflix.
