Family Guy recently made headlines for brutally mocking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have reportedly been in “full panic mode” since the “savage” episode aired on Sunday, Oct. 22.

According to sources close to the ex-royals, the couple has slammed the episode as an “outrageous slur,” per Closer magazine. The insiders claim the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel like “they’re not being taken seriously enough by people” and that they “can’t catch a beak.”

In the episode, Peter Griffin (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) announces a new solo venture — similar to Prince and Markle, who stepped away as working royals and have been incredibly vocal about their experience since. The next scene finds an animated version of the couple sitting poolside as a butler approaches them with a stack of envelopes.

“Sir, your millions from Netflix for … no one knows what,” the butler says, referring to their whopping $100 million deal with the streamer, to which an uninterested Harry replies, “Put it with the rest of them.”

Once the butler exits the scene, Markle says, “Babe, time to do our $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco,” while Harry mutters, “I shouldn’t have left the made-up nonsense,” referencing their 2020 decision to step away from the monarchy.

In light of the episode — which came in the same year they were parodied on South Park — sources claim that the couple is desperately trying to save their faltering image.

“Meghan said she won’t be humiliated like this and is desperate for a solution. They’re in full panic mode,” a source told Closer magazine, before adding that Prince Harry and Markle have called the episode an “attack from inside Hollywood.”

What they are allegedly most offended by, however, is the way Family Guy has portrayed them as doing the bare minimum when it comes to the ways in which they make their fortune.

“What’s hit them hardest and cuts the deepest of all is that it plays up the whole notion they’re self-entitled grifters or spoilt brats,” the source claimed, noting that Markle allegedly thinks the only way to come back from this is for Prince Harry to “swallow his pride and beg for his family’s forgiveness.”

Decider has reached out to reps for the couple, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
