Believe or not, The Exorcist: Believer digital release date is today—meaning you can now buy or rent The Exorcist: Believer on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu, and Apple TV—after opening in theaters just two weeks earlier. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon, the film cost $19.99 to rent, and $29.99 to buy. The film will also still be playing in theaters.

Intended as a direct sequel to William Friedrick’s 1973 horror masterpiece, The Exorcist, this new movie is directed by David Gordon Green, who also helmed the recent sequel/reboot trilogy of the Halloween films with Jamie Lee Curtis. The Exorcist: Believer sees the return of Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, who must help out a new pair of parents (played by Leslie Odom Jr. and Tracey Graves) dealing with a possessed child. After all, Chris has been there and done that!

Even though the film was not well-liked by critics, it still scraped together a decent $107.6 million at the worldwide box office, so far. So is it surprising that Universal pushed the film to digital after just two weeks? Not really. Although two weeks is on the short side for a theatrical run, most studio films these days are only exclusive to theaters for 45 days or less, and Universal has had a particularly quick turnaround time. The last big Universal movie, Strays, hit digital after two weeks as well. And no doubt Universal hopes to capitalize on the many people watching spooky movies at home this month, before Halloween.

If nothing else, it will be a thrill for horror fans to see Burstyn back in the role. Read on to find out what you need to know about The Exorcist: Believer digital release date, and when to expect to see The Exorcist: Believer streaming on Peacock.

When will The Exorcist: Believer be streaming on Peacock?

UPDATE 11/17/23: The Exorcist: Believer will begin streaming on Peacock on December 1, 2023.

The Exorcist: Believer will likely be on Peacock before the end of the year because it is a Universal release, and Peacock is the Universal streaming platform. The Exorcist: Believer streaming release date has not yet been announced, but we can guess when it will be on Peacock based on previous Universal movie releases.

The last big Universal release, Strays, began streaming on Peacock on October 6, about seven weeks after opening in theaters. If The Exorcist: Believer follows a similar release pattern, you can expect The Exorcist: Believer to be on Peacock around November 24, aka Thanksgiving weekend.

This is all speculation, of course. If you want to watch The Exorcist: Believer at home right away, you can do so by buying or renting the film on digital today.
