Millie Bobby Brown is ready to l’eggo her Eggo and wrap up her time as El on Stranger Things.

The 19-year-old actress reflected on her experience on the Emmy award-winning Netflix series — which put her name on the map at only age 12 — telling Glamour (prior to the onset of the SAG-AFTRA strike) that she was accused of “trying to steal the thunder” of her cast mates.

“We’re kids—we talk over each other,” she explained to the outlet. “I was just penalized for overtalking and oversharing and being too loud.”

She revealed that adults called her “an idiot,” “stupid,” and “a brat,” noting that “it’s hard to hear that at 13.”

“You’re like, ‘I don’t want to ever talk again. I don’t want to be the loud person,'” she continued. “In interviews I couldn’t help but think of all the comments. So I just remembered to stay silent and speak when I was spoken to, even though I was dying to join in. I just felt it wasn’t my turn.”

After years of being ridiculed by critics, Brown expressed that she is more than ready to leave Stranger Things, clarifying that it “takes up a lot of time to film.”

“It’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about,” she added. “So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye.’”

However, she credited the show for granting her the “tools and the resources to be a better actor,” and cast mates that she highlighted she will “be able to still see” following the series finale.

Brown is also not the only Stranger Things star ready to escape the Upside Down. Joe Keery told Women’s Wear Daily that he “does feel like it’s time” for the show to come to a close, but that “it won’t be easy for it to end.”

“And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it,” he said.

Stranger Things is streaming on Netflix.
