Although the new Goosebumps series only just premiered on Disney+ and Hulu on October 13, the show’s producers are hopeful that it will be renewed.

The horror comedy series, which is based on R.L. Stine‘s popular 1990s kids horror book series of the same name, stars Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, and Will Price.

It centers on a group of high schoolers (in present day) who continue to find themselves in scary situations. Although each of the novels follow different stories, the new Goosebumps series sticks to one main storyline, which is five teens working to save their town from supernatural forces that they themselves unleashed.

Producers Conor Welch and Pavun Shetty recently told Comicbook.com that they hope Goosebumps is around for “many, many more seasons” and continues with the same core cast.

“We lucked out so significantly with the cast that we were able to assemble for this show. These five relatively unknown young adult actors just immediately found a chemistry and were able to play into their very natural and organic dynamics they had within the group,” said Welch. “Our hope is to follow this group of kids and adults for many, many more seasons and many, many more episodes to come. Because we do have every one of the books of the canon at our disposal, and there’s just a lot more to dig into.”

Shetty added: “I hope our grandkids will be watching all the [episodes], reading all the books, and their kids.”

Developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, who directed the 2015 film adaptation of the series starring Jack Black, the new series aims to attract older teens with its older characters and spookier tales.

The first five episodes of Goosebumps, which are now available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu, serve as origin stories for its younger characters. New episodes will premiere every Friday through November 17.
