After a relentlessly wild eight episodes, Season 1 of Harlan Coben’s Shelter ended with a major reveal that will leave fans craving more.

The Prime Video series — adapted from Coben’s Mickey Bolitar book series — followed brave teens Mickey (Jaden Michael), Spoon (Adrian Greensmith), Ema (Abby Corrigan), and Rachel (Sage Linder) on a dangerous quest for truth in Kassleton, New Jersey. After surviving a truly absurd number of near-death experiences, the friends end Season 1 on a high, hopeful note. But it’s no secret that loads more danger, mysteries, and battles await. So our biggest question post-finale is “Will we get to see more of Mickey’s story?”

Curious if Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 2 is on the way? Or if Prime Video canceled the suspenseful show? Here’s everything we know about the future of the series. Just be warned that Season 1 finale spoilers lie ahead.

Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 1 Ending Explained:

Before we get to Season 2 updates, let’s review how Season 1 ended, shall we? If you’re looking for a full recap of Shelter‘s Season 1 finale, check out our detailed recap of Episode 8, “Found.” But the main takeaways from the eventful finale are that Hannah told her husband about her affair with Shira, Mickey and Bat Lady survived Luther’s fiery attack, Luther sought revenge because he blames Mickey’s dad for the accidental death of his brother, and Mickey’s dad Brad is STILL ALIVE! The final scene of Season 1 shows Mickey and his pals finding Brad trapped in an underground shelter beneath Bat Lady’s house. So what happens next? And will we get the chance to find out?!

Will There Be A Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 2 On Prime Video?

Ahead of the Season 1 finale of Harlan Coben’s Shelter, Prime Video had yet to announce whether the series was renewed or canceled. But it’s not uncommon for streaming services to wait a while after a season wraps before announcing future plans, so don’t lose hope yet.

The fact that Season 1 ended on that major cliffhanger and Coben’s Mickey Bolitar series consists of three books — Shelter, Seconds Away, and Found — suggests there’s more to be explored in the show.

Decider reached out to reps for the series and will update this article when we know more details. Until then, Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 1 is currently streaming on Prime Video for all your rewatch needs.

What Could Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 2 Look Like?

Though the series has yet to be renewed for Season 2, based on the Season 1 finale we can start to predict what a second season of Shelter might look like. For starters, we’ll get to know Mickey’s dad, Brad, and see him readjust to life outside the shelter. Since Bat Lady teased that we haven’t seen the last of Luther, there’s a chance we could see another showdown between him and the Bolitar boys. And we’ll likely see Mickey, Ema, Spoon, and Rachel embark on more adventures (and possibly even save some more children). Other storylines waiting to be explored include Hannah and Shira’s romance, Mickey’s mom’s mental health, Abeona, and more.

Stay tuned for updates regarding Shelter Season 2, and be sure to check of Coben’s books if you need more Mickey stories in the mean time.
