Marvel Shows ‘Agatha’ & ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Delayed Due To Ongoing Strikes

Marvel shows Agatha: Coven of Chaos (now titled Agatha: Darkhold Diaries) and Daredevil: Born Again have been delayed due to the ongoing writers and actors strikes.

The news comes as Disney+ has revealed an overall pullback strategy on new content over the next year.

The writers have been striking since May 2 with the actors joining them on July 14, which had a major impact on production and development.

Marvel reportedly also wants to spread out its release schedule and plan for each new series debut to be an event for fans and audiences.

Thus far, Loki and What If…? will be the only two shows that will still be premiering in 2023. Season 2 of Loki will debut on Disney+ on October 6 and What If…? Season 2 will land sometime around Christmas Day, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson, had the biggest digital debut of a trailer for any Disney+ series and its first season remains the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+.

Echo, which is a spin-off from last year’s hit Hawkeye, was originally announced for November 29 but has now been moved to January 2024 when all episodes will drop at the same time.

Animated series X-Men ’97, which was originally planned for Fall 2023, will now premiere in early 2024.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, the WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn, was originally slated for Winter 2023 but has now been pushed back to early Fall 2024.

Ironheart, which already finished shooting, has been dropped completely from the schedule. It was supposed to debut this fall but the strikes have impacted its completion.

Daredevil: Born Again, a continuation of the Netflix series in the MCU, was planned for Spring 2024 but has now been pushed indefinitely.
