In honor of Euphoria star Angus Cloud‘s devastating death on July 31, HBO added a touching tribute to two episodes — the Season 1 and Season 2 premieres — on Max.

Now, when viewers watch these two episodes, they will see a black and white image of Cloud, who played the lovable, soft-spoken drug dealer Fezco (“Fez” for short).

The tribute also includes the words, “In memory of Angus Cloud 1998-2023.” The tribute is displayed for approximately seven seconds prior to a viewer discretion warning for the show’s content.

In a statement shared with TMZ on the day of his death, Cloud’s family said, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

Cloud died about a week after the death of his father, and his family noted that he “struggled with his loss.”

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they added.

According to TVLine, Cloud’s mother Lisa posted on Facebook to shut down any rumors that his death was in any way intentional.

“I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one,” she wrote. “He did not intend to end his life. When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning.”

Many of his fellow Euphoria co-stars mourned the loss of Cloud on social media, including series star Zendaya, who wrote on Instagram, “Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor).”

The first two seasons of Euphoria are streaming on Max.
